In the North, Des Moines continues their role as spoiler, coming back in the 7th, scoring 6 runs to beat Chillicothe 7-6 in their final home game -- Splitting a DH with the Mudcats.

Clarinda got a huge post-season clinching victory over St. Joe last night 1-0 which seals them into the post-season and still with a shot at the top spot in the North. The final playoff spot is still up for grabs between Chillicothe and Carroll.

Updates from July 18:

The 2023 MINK Playoff Chase is hot and heavy down the back-stretch. Here's how things stand as of the games from July 18.

The St. Joe Mustangs are the first to clinch a postseason berth. Last night, Carroll's loss to Joplin clinched the postseason hopes for the Mustangs and an opportunity to go back-to-back championships in the MINK.

Clarinda fell to Des Moines as the Peak Prospects plan to play spoiler, beating them 7-2. Clarinda's Magic Number still stands at 3 heading into Wednesday's action. However, Clarinda has a huge game at home against St. Joe tonight where the top spot in the North is still very much up for grabs.

In the South Division, Joplin's postseason Magic Number is 2 after beating Carroll 12-4 last night. They have the most games to play the remainder of the week, however, and could sew up a postseason berth tonight after a double-header against Sedalia. Will O'Kelley hit a monster bomb in that 12-4 victory.
