MINK Player of the Month-June 2023-Ryan Callahan

The MINK League announced on Sunday that first baseman Ryan Callahan was named their Player of the Month for June, 2023. Callahan only joined the St. Joe Mustangs on June 15, but made a huge impact quickly – most notably a 4-5 performance against Des Moines where he notched two triples, a double, and a single scoring four runs.

Callahan, a product of Blue Valley Northwest high school and who has logged time with the University of Kansas and currently with Johnson County Community College, is batting a ridiculous .400 this season in only nine games. The leftie is ranked second in the league in triples (3), and slashing .400/.548/.633 so far in the year.

The Mustangs will need Callahan’s bat down the stretch as they battle currently in second place in the MINK North Division, just two games back of the Clarinda A’s.

Callahan announced last week that he will be heading back to Division I in 2024, playing his Junior year with the Wichita State Shockers.
