MINK Players of the Week-Week 5

The MINK Announced their Player and Pitcher of the Month for Week 5 this past weekend. Both players have had outstanding weeks as the weather heats up.

Mason Holton of the St. Joe Mustangs is the Pitcher of the Week. Holton, a product of Coffeyville CC, Fort Hays State, and Blue Valley Southwest HS, pitched a one-hit shutout over Carroll in an 8-0 win on June 1. Walking only three, and striking out nine, he has amassed 21 innings pitched this season – splitting time on the hill and at third base.

A season 3.00 ERA, Holton is finding his stride with the Mustangs as they battle with the Clarenda A’s in a see-saw first place battle. The shutout improved his season record to 3-0 on the year.

The MINK Player of the Week is from the Joplin Outlaws. Jaret Nelson’s season hitting stats haven’t lit up any scoreboards, but he has caught fire over the past week going 7-16 scoring 8 runs through his last five games. He has also helped lift the Outlaws to a currently five game winning streak. Nelson whacked in six RBI in that span including 2 homers and 4 swiped bags.

Hailing from Nixa HS, Nelson is attending Fort Scott.

Congratulations to both players on this honor!
