Schedule updates | Joplin no longer a member of MINK League

Effective immediately, the Joplin Outlaws are no longer a member of the MINK League. Mark and Edwina Rains, both valued members of the MINK League and owners of the Joplin franchise, have sold the team.

As a result of the move, a number of changes have been made to the MINK League for the 2024 season. Joplin has been removed from all schedules; many of those games have been replaced with other MINK League opponents or other non league opponents.

"We wish the Rains and the city of Joplin well," said MINK League President Ky Turner. "The MINK League is a strong collegiate summer baseball league with a history of great coaching and players; some of our players have gone on to great success in both collegiate and professional careers, including Major League Baseball. We've had some great discussions with prospective teams and communities about joining the MINK League in the near future. We have a very careful and thorough process, but the future of MINK League baseball is bright."

Additionally, teams will not be divided into divisions for the 2024 season; playoff seeding will be based off winning percentage. The top six teams will advance to the MINK League playoffs, with the following format:

Wild Card Round-one game playoff

  • #3 seed will host the #6 seed
  • #4 seed will host the #5 seed
  • Semi Finals-one game playoff
  • The highest remaining seed will travel to the #1 seed, while the other remaining opponent will travel to the #2 seed.
