MINK announces 2024 All-League Team
The top two teams from the 2024 MINK season left their mark on the all-league team released Thursday afternoon.
The Clarinda A's, this summer's runner-up, put eight players on the All-MINK League squad, while the champion St. Joseph Mustangs had six selections.
The All-MINK League Team highlights the best players from an exciting summer of baseball throughout the region. The recognition is voted on by league coaches.
The MINK Player of the Year, Sean Bazmore, was one of four first team selections for the A's. Bazmore led the league batting .371 with 47 RBIs. Infielder Joey Caruso (.287, 38 RBIs), outfielder Khi Holiday (.531 OBP, 37 SB), and pitcher Jose Calcano (6-3, 53 IP) were also named to the first team.
Fresh off of the organization's ninth league title, four Mustangs received the nod to the All-MINK First Team. Dom Felix was named all-league catcher after batting .321 with a league-high four home runs and 25 RBIs while guiding the St. Joseph pitching staff to a MINK-best 3.39 team ERA. He was joined on the first team by outfielder Darius Freeman (.327, 2 HR, 31 RBIs), and pitchers Roy Holcomb (4-2, 3.35 ERA) and Denton Biller (2.51 ERA, 40 Ks).
Jefferson City placed two on the all-league first team. Designated hitter and first baseman Jack Holubowski belted three home runs and posted a .459 on-base percentage. Cam Lee led the Renegades with a .323 batting average while striking out just nine times in 124 at-bats.
The MINK League Pitcher of the Year was also a first team member. Cullen McBride was a force for the Carroll Merchants this summer, recording a 2.19 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP to go along with a spotless 5-0 record.
Sam Paule was a bright spot for Sedalia throughout the season, and was named to the all-league first team. Paule led the Bombers with a .323 average and 21 RBIs in 27 games. He hit safely in 15 of the final 18 games he played in this summer.
Julio Guerrero missed 14 games in the middle of the season for Chillicothe, but still put up big numbers and received an All-MINK First Team nod. Guerrero batted .493 with three home runs and 21 RBIs in 20 games for the Mudcats.
